Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of cinnamon roll dough (pre-packaged)
- 1 tablespoon of flour (for dusting)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Toppings
- Powdered sugar
- Maple syrup
- Fresh fruit (such as strawberries or blueberries)
- Whipped cream
Instructions
- Start by unrolling the cinnamon roll dough and placing it on a lightly floured surface.
- Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut the dough into small bite-sized pieces. If you have a cookie cutter, you can use it to create fun shapes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix the mixture until it’s smooth and well blended.
- Dip each piece of cinnamon roll dough into the French toast mixture, ensuring it’s completely coated.
- Allow any excess mixture to drip off before proceeding to the next step.
- Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.
- Once hot, place the coated dough pieces onto the pan. Cook them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they become golden brown and crispy.
- Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
Baking Option
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the coated dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
